Attendance, Punctuality and Holidays

At St Botolph’s Primary School we believe good attendance and prompt starts to the day are very important in order to make sure that your child gets the education they deserve. Pupils are expected to be in school for registration at the time specified for their class.

Taking time off school during term time can disrupt your child’s education. The Headteacher may authorise absence during term time in exceptional circumstances. Please obtain a holiday form from the main foyer or the school office. This should be returned at least one month before the planned absence. You risk your child losing their place if they are absent for long periods of time. A copy of the school`s attendance policy is available on the school website.

Our Attendance Officer is in school and available to discuss any concerns you might have and where difficulties continue will send official letters and visit if necessary. Please avoid this by making sure all reasons for absence are for exceptional circumstances and letting the school office know as soon as possible an explanation of the exceptional circumstances. Punctuality and regular attendance are important if your child is to learn well.

At St Botolph's C of E Primary School we operate a 'soft start' to the day with doors opening from 8:40am. Children must be in school by 8:50am each day.

The day ends at 15:20pm.

If your child will be absent from school due to illness, please call 01733 231313 before 8.30am.

A school week at our school is 32.5 hours.
